Uncompromised Beauty
Uncompromised Beauty is a residential complex located in an alley in the old town of Taoyuan, Taiwan. The complex is composed of five five-story houses, each set back eight meters to open the view along the narrow lane. A concave and convex white exterior creates a changing play of light and shadow. Skylights cover about one third of each house and bring daylight to every floor. Apart from the master bedroom, each room has its own balcony and bathroom. Full accessibility connects the sidewalk with the shared public areas.
Uncompromised Beauty Architecture Design by Hong Gi Construction was highlighted as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Uncompromised Beauty Architecture Design won the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2020. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition which honors excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
