Tranquility
Universal the Pavilion is a multifunctional pavilion designed for a park site in Moscow. The rectangular building is enclosed on three sides by stained glass windows with wooden inserts and covered by a flat roof that cantilevers over the entrance areas and long terraces. Two entrance groups lead to a cafe on the north side and to a universal hall for public events on the south side. An internal corridor connects both areas. A glass covered platform between them protects visitors from rain and snow. Panoramic glazing opens the interior to the surrounding landscape.
Tranquility Universal Pavilion by Alexander Kravchenko has been recognized as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Tranquility Universal Pavilion won the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2020. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that recognizes exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
