Warszawa
Warszawa is a sports stadium designed as the main building of a sports complex. The organic and fluid structure connects all the buildings of the complex. The design appears to grow from the ground, with the paths acting as roots and the stadium as the plant. The rings of the stadium are open to people and can be used for walking, running, cycling and skating. The surrounding garden extends the same idea of movement. The intent is to link different sports and to offer a new way to experience the stadium.
Warszawa Sports Stadium by Nuno Calado has been identified as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Warszawa Sports Stadium earned the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2020. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design award that honors exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
