Octagon
The octagon, a geometric figure selected by Nikola Tesla for his tower served as the motivation for creating a distinctive pavilion complex. By rebuilding the tower using energy efficient technologies, with a lookout as the focal point of this architectural ensemble featuring eight pavilions within the octagonal extension of the tower, this facility would serve as a future landmark for any global expo complex. The glazed atrium, is supported by columns shaped to represent lightning. Once the Expo event concludes, this complex could evolve into a mixed-use center, guaranteeing its viability.
Octagon Expo Pavilion by Dr Aleksandar Rudnik Milanovic was selected as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Octagon Expo Pavilion was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2025. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize that rewards superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
