Dot Sofia

Dot Sofia is a mixed use building for events and urban living in Sofia, Bulgaria. The two volume structure holds a contemporary art and events space, a signature restaurant and residential units. Dot Sofia stands in the historic market district, an area long linked to trade and neglected in recent decades. The facade is made of rusted steel and recalls the aged materiality of the neighborhood. Oversized shutters open and close, following the rhythm of market life. The building was completed in 2023 and has a gross floor area of 1576 square meters.

Dot Sofia Event Space and Residential Architecture by GEORGI KATOV has been highlighted as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Dot Sofia Event Space and Residential Architecture won the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2024. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition that celebrates exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
