Wenzhou Christine
Wenzhou Christine is a wedding art center located in Wenzhou, China. The project renovates a half-circular hotel building from the 1990s. The existing facade is clad with perforated laser-cut aluminum panels that form patterns inspired by the lace and embroidery of wedding dresses. The 9.7 meter tall facade resembles a wedding dress moved by wind, and lighting reveals the patterns at night. The 700 square meter interior contains a display lounge and a wedding ceremony hall. The design also aims to renew an older city center neighborhood.
Wenzhou Christine Wedding Art Center by Mo Zheng was featured as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Wenzhou Christine Wedding Art Center earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2024. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize that recognizes excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
