Sky Jade
Sky Jade is a 24-story residential building in Taichung City, Taiwan. The design prioritizes green space instead of maximizing building coverage, and greenery is shown on the facade. A glass curtain wall inclined at 7 degrees gives a faceted appearance similar to a cut gemstone, so each facade looks different as sunlight and weather change. A sky garden is placed every three floors. Digital parametric modelling was used to simulate climate, daylight, energy use and structure, supporting a low-carbon design that suits the natural setting.
Sky Jade Residence by Golden Jade has been identified as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Sky Jade Residence earned the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2024. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition that recognizes outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
