Casa Della Quercia
Casa Della Quercia is a single family villa built on a panoramic hillside site with a centuries-old oak tree. The single above-ground floor covers 105 square meters and holds two bedrooms, a kitchen, a large living room and two bathrooms. The swimming pool sits in a sheltered rear patio with a microclimate suitable for mid-season, so the front lawn stays open. A central shaft brings light and air to the basement rooms. Walls are 53 centimeters thick with 16 centimeters of insulation, and a heat pump serves underfloor heating and cooling. The flat roof simplifies maintenance.
Casa Della Quercia Single Family Villa by Andrea Brunazzi was highlighted as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Casa Della Quercia Single Family Villa was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious international design prize that rewards superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
