Expo Village Plot B
Expo Village Plot B is a residential development on the east bank of the Huangpu River in Shanghai. The buildings are arranged around the plot, with six eight-storey blocks along the river to the west and taller blocks of 19 to 22 floors to the east, forming a stepped skyline. The existing urban fabrics and facades of the Shanghai Expo Village are retained. Glass and aluminium panels form modular facades with a light visual effect. Balconies bring in sunlight, fresh air and river views. Planting covers 35 per cent of the site, creating a garden-like community.
Expo Village Plot B Residential by Shanghai Huayuan Industrial Co., Ltd. was identified as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Expo Village Plot B Residential earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design award which recognizes outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
