Two Arches
Two Arches is a villa located in a calm setting in Damavand, Iran. The design reflects the origins of Iranian architecture from a modern point of view. Traditional principles and spatial hierarchy guide the plan to provide privacy and comfort for the inhabitants. Inspired by Iranian gardens, a waterway forms the main axis of the site. A white plane between two arches divides the public and private spaces. On the first floor, a bridge connects these areas as a corridor. The building covers 200 square meters and combines concrete and metal with brick cladding.
Two Arches Villa by Hossein Hassani has been featured as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Two Arches Villa was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize that recognizes excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
