Shandong Dongping
Shandong Dongping is a residential community in Dongping, Shandong Province, China. The plan is inspired by the movement of fish swarms. Surrounding landscape and buildings converge in a central landscape, forming a continuous shared space. All residential blocks face south to receive maximum sunlight. Large glass curtain walls on the south facade provide light and open views. Horizontal aluminium louvres on the north corridor facade form a partly opening surface. Staggered floor slabs create local diamond patterns. The design opens the ground level and sky gardens to shared use.
Shandong Dongping Landscape Residence by Yun Lu was featured as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Shandong Dongping Landscape Residence was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2020. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade that celebrates outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
